Privacy Notice

Last updated: 11 December 2025

This privacy notice explains how YOLO Games ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses information when you play the games available on protulae.com (the "Site").

We are established in Europe and comply with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

1. Data we collect when you play our games

When you use our games, we collect only the limited information needed to run the games, remember your scores, and protect our services.

a) Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies (or equivalent browser storage) to remember your high score for each game so that you can try to beat it when you come back, and to associate your gameplay with a browser or session identifier so that scores from the same browser are grouped together.

These cookies do not contain your name, email address, or other direct identifiers.

b) Game score and region information

When you submit a score from a game, our server stores the following in our database:

We do not store your IP address in the game database. However, your IP address is processed briefly by our systems in order to deliver the service and determine your approximate region.

c) Technical logs and security

Like most websites, our hosting environment may generate standard server logs that can include technical information such as IP address, date and time of request, URL requested, HTTP status code, and browser or device information (user-agent).

These logs are used for security, debugging, and to operate our infrastructure.

2. How we use this information

We use the information described above to run the games and show you your current and previous high scores, maintain and improve the stability and performance of the Site, understand aggregate usage patterns (such as which regions our players are coming from), prevent abuse, cheating, or attacks on our services, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

We do not use the game scores or session IDs to identify you personally, and we do not use this data for direct marketing.

3. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases for the processing described in this notice.

Performance of a contract or steps taken prior to entering a contract. We process data as necessary to provide the games to you and to remember your high scores when you return.

Legitimate interests. We process data as necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our services, in understanding how our games are used in aggregate, and in preventing fraud or misuse. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object (see section 7 below).

If we use cookies or similar technologies for advertising (for example, through Google AdSense), we will rely on your consent. This consent will be collected through a separate cookie banner or consent management tool when ads are shown.

4. Cookies and browser controls

You can manage or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. If you block or delete our game cookies, your previous high scores may no longer be available on your next visit and we may not be able to recognise your browser as the same returning player.

5. Sharing and international transfers

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share your data with hosting and infrastructure providers that help us operate the Site, analytics or security providers that help us monitor and protect the service, and advertising partners (such as Google) if we display ads on the Site.

Some of these providers may be located outside the UK or EEA. Where this is the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, to protect your personal data as required by law.

6. Data retention

We keep game scores and region information for as long as necessary for our analytics, security, and to operate the games, and then either delete or anonymise this data.

We keep cookies and local storage on your device until they expire or you delete them, and we keep server logs for a limited period necessary for security and troubleshooting.

You can ask us for more detail on specific retention periods using the contact details below.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you are located (for example, in the UK or EU or EEA), you may have rights under data protection law in relation to your personal data.

These rights may include the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), in France this is the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), or you may contact your local supervisory authority in the EU or EEA.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.

8. Advertising (for example, Google AdSense)

If we display advertising (for example via Google AdSense) on the Site, third-party providers may set cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure personalised or non-personalised ads and to perform aggregate analytics on ad performance.

Where required by law, we will ask for your consent to advertising cookies via a cookie banner or consent management tool. You can change or withdraw this consent at any time through the options presented in that banner or tool.

For more information about how Google uses data in its advertising services, please refer to Google’s own privacy and cookie information.
